Blue-Sided Antelope - Sold by CMWyvern Blue-Sided Antelope - Sold by CMWyvern
EDIT: Now for sale! www.etsy.com/listing/162521847…

Blue-Sided Antelope is an OOAK posable art doll. (My 5th one!) She has a sculpted head, ears, and hooves and a soft, posable body. Her ears can be posed independently of her head. The faux fur is hand dyed. She is about 18" long and 7.5" tall at the shoulder.

The reason she is colored this way... well, it seemed like a good idea to do the side markings at the time. It was inspired by thompson's gazelles' markings. She looked rather doubtful and I was not very happy with her for a while, but after painting her face I am actually quite pleased with how she came out!

I love your work! I am attempting to make a posable art doll, I know that you use simply spray to paint them and I was wondering if you use kind of a stencil to get the different colours in such distinct patterns. If I knew this it would help me to make my own, though they will never be as good as yours. :)

Aww thanks! It makes me so happy inside to know I'm inspiring people!

And nope, I've not tried any kind of masking. Play around with the paints... I suspect you will discover a technique that works.

So lovely how you blended the fur into the face!  Must have been some delicate gluing work and then coloring on top, damnnn.  Really love it!

Thanks! This transition is in my mind one of the most important parts of a posable. I'm still working on improving my methods... each one gets a bit better.
